Mohamed Haji Mukhtar is a distinguished Somali historian and scholar with over 50 years in academia. Specializing in the history of Somalia and the Horn of Africa, he is committed to advancing the understanding of Somali history, culture, and languages. Currently a professor at Savannah State University in Georgia, USA, Mukhtar is an advocate for the Maay-Somali language and other Somali dialects.
